The 2005 Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science


You are invited to make a nomination for any of the following five (5) prestigious awards: The Prime Minster’s Prize for Science, Science Minister’s Prize for Life Scientist of the Year, Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year; Prime Minister’s Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching in Primary Schools and Prime Minister’s Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching in Secondary Schools. Closing date: Friday, 8 April 2005, 5.00 pm AEST.


The Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year is awarded to young scientists for outstanding achievement that promotes human welfare and benefit society. Nominees’ dates of birth must be on or after 1 January 1970. The Prize comprises a silver medallion and a grant of $50,000.


Previous recipients to the Malcolm McIntosh Prize include Dr Brian Schmidt, Professor Peter Bartlett, Professor Marcela Bilek, Dr Howard Wiseman and Professor Benjamin Eggleton.
